Following that, Shayne auditioned for a place on ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ in July 2004 and made it through to the last 100 hopefuls from over 35,000 applicants but unfortunately was not chosen for the show. “I was too nervous looking back, but the experience was fantastic though...” he said.
Those nerves mostly whittled away however, as more and more people came to hear him and his confidence grew with every gig. Most recently, Shayne entered the U.K & European Elvis Contest in Blackpool where he reached the Finals and was awarded the winner of the U.K’s Elvis Gospel Singer 2007.
In June this same year, Shayne entered ‘The Ultimate Elvis Competition’ held by Graceland Estates where he once again made it through to the Finals. He was then asked to audition for the BBC in London for their televised show ‘The World’s Greatest Elvis’ to be screened on Saturday 22nd September. Within a week he was selected to appear on the show...one of the selected 30 artistes chosen by the BBC talent scouts.
Shayne continues to sing a tribute to his favourite Artist of all time and is now focusing on entering more national competitions as an ETA. Shayne is planning to hold full tribute shows backed by a full band and backing singers in the very near future.
Currently, he sings a mixture of hits from the early 50’s right up to the late seventies. Shayne is available for corporate events, private parties, weddings, functions, TV/Radio work and sound-alike sessions.
